Little Boys

I debated long and hard as to whether or not I would add my latest script to my website because of its mature content, and because it is primarily a social drama, and a dark one, at that. Besides being a coming of age crime drama, it covers the topic of male sexual abuse, and this is not an easy thing to stomach; I get it.

Although the #MeToo movement has seen a few men sprinkled here and there come out to talk about their experiences, it is not nearly enough. I know this for a fact. I've worked with children and adolescents for a great part of my adult life and I can tell you, you haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg yet. These boys are men now, and many of them are your husbands, uncles, brothers, fathers,  supervisors,  and next door neighbors.

As for this particular script, I received some good coverage and got some good feedback from a few industry executives. On the other hand, I was told by one reader from the Blacklist, "Don't show this to anybody else." and by another exec, " I don't know who will watch this." That being said,  It is still being shopped around and I believe will find a home with someone with stones.

You can read the script simply by clicking on the Little Boys menu.  Enjoy.

Can anything good come out of Indianapolis? Sure.
Joyce DeWitt was from Indy and so is Mike Epps, Brendan Fraser, Vivica A. Fox,
Steve McQueen and David Letterman, just to name a few.

Told by the naysayers there was no future in writing because the odds were stacked against him, L.E. Coleman took the naysayers advice for a while and tested the waters of the local job market as a young man. He worked all kinds of odd jobs, from laying asphalt, to loading one hundred pound bags of starch into railroad box carts, to cutting tobacco in the boonies in Kentucky, to sorting through mail at the Post Office. But alas, he said, "Screw this! I need me a fucking desk job!"

With that in mind he went on to spend over twenty-five years being an advocate for, and working with various individuals and populations in the areas of mental health and social services and used his experience to write some of the most craziest titled books in the self-help market.

He is a U.S.A. Book News Best Book Award Finalist for the self-help audio book titled, "The Black Man's Little Book of Success Secrets: 7 Spiritual Secrets for Breaking the Curse of Poverty."  A few of his other titles include, "How to Stop Hatin Yo Baby's Momma: A Spiritual and Emotional Guide for Non-Custodial Fathers," "We the People of Color: For Sale to the Lowest Bidder" and "How to Avoid a Stupid Man: A Woman's Guide to Attracting Her Soul Mate.
His articles about dating and relationship have been featured on numerous relationship websites across the net.

His love for dramas, comedies and sci-fi  movies led him into learning the craft of screenwriting where he focuses most of his attention today. A second rounder in the 2016 Austin Film Festival Screenplay competition for his dramatic screenplay, Two Against the Flood, he continues to hone his talents in the hope of seeing his movies on the big screen one day.

As a music producer and singer/songwriter he has several songs published to date and is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. He attended Ivy Tech Community College and Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis.
